Talent Appoints New Chair
Shortlist - 24 August 2021
Talent has announced a new global chair, with Yorkway Private executive chair Paul Batchelor transitioning to the role, effective immediately.
The announcement comes after Yorkway Private and Quintet Partners increased their stake in Talent earlier this year, and it will see founder and incumbent chair Richard Earl move into a non-executive director role.
“I want to thank Richard on behalf of the board and the entire Talent team for his unflagging dedication to building Talent, and acknowledge his strong legacy,” Batchelor say.
Meanwhile, Yorkway Private managing partner and co-founder Michelene Hart has been appointed ANZ chair of charity foundation Talent Rise, and chair of Talent’s ‘OneTeam’ HR committee, effective immediately.
Earl will remain as global chair of Talent Rise, and provide support and mentoring across the non-ANZ part of the business.
“It has been a wonderful pleasure leading this amazing company and I know that it will continue to be in experienced and safe hands with Paul and Michelene”, he says.
Both Batchelor and Hart will continue to work closely with global CEO Mark Nielsen and the wider team to expand the company domestically and internationally.
“The working relationship over the last six months with Michelene and Paul has been exceptional. What is pleasing is that we are totally aligned as to how to continue to expand our people-centric business thereby delivering considerable value to all our stakeholders,” Nielsen says.
There will be no change to Talent’s management team and operational structures, with the company remaining an independent and Australian-owned company.
