Neil Sutton - Managing Partner
Neil joined Yorkway Private in 2020 and brings over 25 years of experience across structured debt, leveraged finance & property finance; private equity; M&A and insolvency.
Prior to joining Yorkway Private, Neil was Head of Debt Capital at MH Carnegie & Co, leading the principal debt investment business, and founded its predecessor firm, Gieldan Capital.
Prior to this, Neil was an Investment Director at Gresham Private Equity, responsible for principal investing, portfolio management and undertaking several investee Board positions. Neil was also a member of Gresham’s Investment Committee.
His first role in Australia, having relocated from the UK in 2002, was to co-establish Bank of Scotland’s Leverage & Acquisition Finance Team in Australia. The team quickly became the leading financier to private equity backed transactions in the early 2000’s, which resulted in Neil’s move to Gresham.
Neil spent the first 7 years of his career in the Global Corporate Finance division within Andersen (UK), initially in the insolvency & corporate turnaround practices and latterly in the corporate finance and M&A practice.
Neil is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW) and holds a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Bristol.
